Paying tribute to Malbec on its day, we recall the story that gave rise to one of our most iconic wines: Malbec Estrella 77. In an exceptional harvest in 1977, Don Raúl de la Mota bet on Malbec when it was still unrecognized, marking a milestone in the industry. Subsequently, in a meeting with journalists, the renowned Fernando Vidal Buzzi dubbed it "the Star of Weinert", thus inspiring its name. Today, the legacy continues after many years, firmly maintaining our conviction that time is indeed one of our pillars when it comes to doing what we love. Pacific Wine & Spirits will be the first company in Canada to be trained at an ISO level for EDI.    Team Promotions: Alberta Sales Manager – Kathy Rawlyk Kathy brings over 16 years of sales experience in the Alberta wine & spirits industry, including more than 4 years with Pacific Wine & Spirits as a Key Account Manager in Calgary.   British Columbia LRS & On-Premise Sales Manager- Alexandra Cousins With Alex’s experience in portfolio development and management, her key role is to determine the strategy for brands and products in the on premise and LRS channels.   Prairie Sales Manager – Bernice Sharples In addition to sales and management of Manitoba, Bernice has now taken on sales in the newly privatized market in Saskatchewan.   Southern Alberta Key Account Manager- Bernedette Bagshaw Bernedette has moved into a Key Account Manager position in Southern Alberta dealing with retail chain accounts. She recently completed her WSET 3.   Southern Alberta Retail Specialist & Event Co-Ordinator - Tiffany Corrie Tiffany’s role has expanded to include coordination of large scale events and festivals along with sales assistance to the Key Account Managers in Alberta.   New Hires: Pawel Maka, Northern Alberta Territory Manager Pawel has been in the liquor industry for over 10 years in both retail and brand representation. With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from NAIT he has achieved WSET 2.   Chelsey Coulson, Southern Alberta Territory Manager Chelsey joins us with +15 years experience in the Alberta wine, beer and distilling industries. She has achieved WSET 2 in Wine and WSET Spirits Level 1. In 2012, she completed the Event Management program at Mount Royal University.   Brad Green, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley & Okanagan Valley Territory Manager Brad joins us with vast experience in both the on premise and retail sector. In his long list of accomplishments, Brad has obtained his Red Seal Chef and WSET Level 2.   Alex Woo, Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands- Territory Manager Alex graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship and Strategy, with a minor in Accounting from Ryerson University in Toronto, making the Dean’s List with Distinction. He has also achieved WSET 3 with top results.   Jim Ringer, PT Sales & Merchandising Support (Manitoba) Jim has been in and around the industry for many years and comes with a wealth of knowledge.
