Congratulations to former Civic Engagement Residency talent, Rebecca Gray with her sister and collaborator Rachel Gray for winning the Digital Excellence in Opera award for Noteworthy Project from OPERA America for their work "Jess" "Jess," a groundbreaking production, marked its debut during Rebecca's residency in the Civic Engagement Artist Residency (CEAR) program in the summer of 2022. Pacific Opera Victoria played a pivotal role as the executive producer of this exceptional endeavor. This compelling adaptation draws from a poignant graphic novel penned by Rachel Gray, intricately exploring the profound effects of stroke and disability. Through its narrative, "Jess" eloquently highlights the transformative essence of friendship and the remarkable healing found within the boundless realms of imagination. Pacific Opera Victoria is honored to have contributed to Rebecca's residency and to have played a role in bringing the vision of "Jess" to life.
