This vibrant seniors' residence is dropping pucks (and moves) on TikTok as they gear up for Game 5, Vancouver vs Oilers, tonight! With Optima Living communities in both BC and Alberta, we can feel the excitement and practically hear the roars of the crowd (and maybe some good-natured chirping within our communities). Speaking of excitement, residents and team members at Everitt Gardens in St. Albert, Alberta, are huge Edmonton Oilers fans (no surprise there) and have been absolutely CRUSHING it on TikTok with their creative and celebratory Oilers videos. Their channel, @everittgardens, is blowing up with some fan videos scoring over 20,000 views! With support from the residence’s Lifestyle Director, Angie (Long) Pitre, and Activity Director, @Lori Kay, 👀 @everittgardens has seen its share of TikTok fame. Last season, Hockey Night in Canada, and numerous local news outlets, featured their content, and some videos received over 2 million views. These residents are bringing the moves, the passion, and the pure love of hockey. They're redefining what it means to be a fan and how to live life with passion, no matter your age! The Optima Living Leadership Summit continued a journey of aspiration for the leadership teams amidst an 80’s themed array of colour. Senior leaders, Angela Grottoli, Sharon Conway, CPHR, SHRM- SCP and Natalie Ku led the second day’s events, igniting a powerful knowledge exchange. Success stories, the invaluable gifts of failure that shape strong leadership, and best practices honed through experience–all fueled a deeper understanding of impactful leadership. A panel of General Managers shared their leadership journeys at their respective communities. The key takeaway was leadership is not a simple application of solutions; it’s a personal journey of understanding. In the words of Theodore Roosevelt, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." The event was not just about learning; it also featured a fun-filled evening of community and dining at the Bearfoot Bistro. Guests were bundled up in parkas while dining in the unique ambiance of the Ice Room and then enjoyed the novelty of the nitrogen ice cream station, creating a memorable experience for all attendees. The summit concluded with a Fireside Chat with the Principals, Karim Kassam, Farid Damji, and Ali Shivji. The opening session was a journey of imagination led by Cailey Massey, Founder of Artfull Enrichment Inc., whose presentation ignited our spirits.
