📣 𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 residents and visitors! Do you have plans this Wednesday? If not, you're invited to the "Walk & Talk" event, hosted by Florida Department of Transportation. This will be a great educational chance for you to learn about the advantages of the recent pedestrian safety improvements in Ormond Beach. You will be joined by FDOT staff, Ormond Beach Police Department officers, local elected officials, and other partners on a voluntary walk along the sidewalk. The walk is approximately 1.4 miles long, everyone is encouraged to ask questions and learn how to use the pedestrian crosswalk systems newly installed by FDOT. Also, have a look and let us know your opinion of the seven new mid-block crossings that use 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 in-roadway LED crosswalk lights, or IRWLs, (with supplemental side-of-road beacons, or RRFBs), during your walk. These IRWL crosswalk systems are proven to make pedestrian crosswalks much safer than crosswalks with only roadside flashers and no warning lights on the pavement!
