Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia—a vibrant celebration of our diverse world. It’s also a moment to confront the harsh realities of discrimination, exclusion, and violence that 2SLGBTQ+ individuals still endure, both around the globe and in our own communities. Let's stand united in our commitment to supporting LGBTQ2S+ rights and creating a society that embraces diversity, safety, and inclusivity for all. #InternationalDayAgainstHomophobiaBiphobiaAndTransphobia2024

Central Saanich’s public facilities are now carrying free menstrual products! “No one should ever feel left out or excluded due to something as fundamental as access to necessary menstrual products,” said Central Saanich Mayor Ryan Windsor. “Fostering a community of inclusion, diversity and accessibility is one of our Council’s priorities, and improving access to menstrual products is progress.” 🙏Thank you, District of Central Saanich for making menstrual products available for people when and where they need them. Thank you to our newest Period Promise Signatory PBC Solutions (Canada) ! At PBC, menstrual products are as essential as toilet paper. BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU) Representative Liam Smith says working with the United Way is an obvious choice. “We are happy to support our peers and others who struggle with accessing these products. No one should go without fulfilling this most basic of needs whether it is the person working next to us or members of marginalized communities. This initiative ensures that won't happen.” CEO Barry Rivelis, ICD.D signed the policy agreement on April 30th and said, “PBCS is pleased to partner with the UWSVI. The program allows us to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and tackle the vulnerability and isolation caused by period poverty." If you’re already providing products at your business or workplace, let us recognize your commitment to menstrual equity and sign the Period Promise Policy Agreement. Make the #periodpromise and help end period poverty. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/e9_3aqiB

The Moose Hide Campaign holds a steadfast belief: violence has no place, regardless of gender. Born in BC as an Indigenous-led grassroots initiative, it's now a rallying cry nationwide, bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians alike. On May 16th, stand with over half a million others in ceremony and solidarity, all aiming to put an end to gender-based violence. 🔶🧡 Link: https://lnkd.in/eWUAPcet
