  • Huge thanks to the University of Victoria Engineering & Computer Science Student Society for raising $5,600 through the 'Order of Pi'! Held during the week of March 14th (Pi Day), the Order of Pi members dress up and walk around the university campus. For a $20 donation, people can summon the Order of Pi to throw a pie in the face of a professor or friend. But if the “accused” matches or exceeds your donation, the pie is turned back on you! A special thanks to charity coordinator Justin, as well as the event participants and volunteers. So inspiring to see Island students supporting Island kids! We love to see young people getting involved in their community and giving back. #IslandKidsFirst #UVic

  • During a challenging time, Andrew Fraser's family found comfort at Jeneece Place, our home away from home near Victoria General Hospital. As a technologist at BC Hydro, Andrew felt inspired to give back. He learned about Q̓ʷalayu House, our home away from home, right in his own community. BC Hydro's new volunteer program allowed Andrew's colleagues to join him, making a meaningful difference for Island kids. “It’s a pretty diverse range of ages, all different backgrounds, and I think my experience rubbed off on them,” he said. Andrew's story is a powerful reminder that everyone can contribute to a brighter future for our children. Thank you, Andrew, his colleagues and BC Hydro for making a difference for Island families!
